Douching and enemas

Douching and enemas

p>Studies show that douches and enemas make the mucosal lining in the rectum and vagina more vulnerable to inflammation and may cause micro-lesions. This reduces mucosal immunity and can increase the risk of HIV transmission during sex. Use of soap may also dry out the skin and increase risk of transmission.
