Circumcision

Studies in sub-Saharan Africa show that uncircumcised men may be at higher risk of HIV transmission than circumcised men in unprotected penile-vaginal or penile-anal intercourse. In addition, the foreskin may provide an environment for survival of bacteria and viruses, and may be susceptible to tears, scratches and abrasions.
