Common vaginal infections

Common vaginal infections

Common vaginal infections (e.g. yeast) can weaken a woman’s mucosal immunity, increasing the risk of HIV transmission. Women should treat common vaginal infections promptly and if possible avoid any unprotected sexual activity in the affected area while the infection persists. Flavoured condoms and lubricants should be avoided, since they may cause vaginal infections.
